Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Senth mobile application and the website at senthapp.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Senth ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Senth.

1. Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use Senth:

• You must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. We verify age during registration and reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate this requirement.
• You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.
• You must not have been previously banned or removed from the Service.
• You must not be prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law or regulation.

2. Your Account

2.1 Account Creation

You create an account by verifying your phone number via SMS. Your phone number is hashed using bcrypt immediately upon verification — we do not store your raw phone number. You will choose a display name; no real name is required.

2.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.

2.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one active Senth account. Creating multiple accounts is a violation of these Terms and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

2.4 Account Accuracy

While you are not required to use your real name, you agree that your age is accurate and that your profile photos are genuinely of you. Misrepresenting your identity, age, or using photos of other people is prohibited.

3. How Senth Works

Senth is a dating app built around ephemeral connections:

• You are shown profiles of other users in your approximate area (based on a 500m grid-snapped location).
• When two users express mutual interest, a match is created.
• Matched users can exchange messages for 48 hours.
• After 48 hours, all messages are automatically and permanently deleted.
• If both users agree to meet, the connection may be extended beyond the initial window.

This ephemeral design is a core feature, not a limitation. By using Senth, you accept and agree to the automatic deletion of messages and match data.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Senth in a respectful, lawful, and genuine manner. Senth is intended for adults seeking authentic connections. You agree to:

• Treat other users with respect and dignity
• Use the Service only for its intended purpose — meeting people
• Provide accurate age information
• Report users who violate these Terms or make you feel unsafe

5. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination:

• Harassment and abuse — threatening, bullying, intimidating, or harassing any user
• Hate speech — content or behaviour that promotes violence or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic
• Sexual exploitation — sharing non-consensual intimate images, soliciting sexual content from minors, or any form of sexual exploitation
• Spam and commercial use — using Senth for advertising, promotion, solicitation, or any commercial purpose
• Impersonation — pretending to be another person, using someone else's photos, or misrepresenting your identity
• Fraud and scams — attempting to defraud other users, including financial scams, phishing, or deceptive schemes
• Illegal activity — using the Service to facilitate any illegal activity, including drug trafficking, prostitution, or money laundering
• Reverse engineering — attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Senth application
• Automated access — using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service or collect user data
• Circumventing safety features — attempting to bypass screenshot detection, message expiry, or any other safety mechanism
• Minors — if you are under 18, using the Service in any capacity

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Senth, including profile photos, bio text, and messages. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. This licence ends when your content is deleted — either through the 48-hour auto-deletion or when you delete your account.

6.2 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, without notice. Given the ephemeral nature of the Service, most content is automatically removed within 48 hours regardless.

6.3 Our Intellectual Property

The Senth name, logo, visual design, software, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Senth and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

7. Privacy

Your use of Senth is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key privacy features include:

• Phone number hashing (bcrypt) — we never see your raw number
• Grid-snapped location (500m) — your exact position is never stored or shared
• EXIF stripping from all photos
• 48-hour message auto-deletion
• Screenshot detection alerts
• Permanent data deletion upon account removal

8. Screenshot Detection

Senth detects screenshots taken within the app and notifies the other user in the conversation. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this feature. Attempting to circumvent screenshot detection is a violation of these Terms.

9. Safety Features

Senth provides safety features including one-tap blocking, message screening, and Safety Signal (live location sharing with a trusted contact). These features are provided to enhance your safety but do not guarantee it. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment when interacting with other users and meeting in person.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 Service Provided "As Is"

Senth is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10.2 No Guarantee of Matches

We do not guarantee that you will receive matches, that other users' profiles are accurate, or that interactions will lead to meetings or relationships. Senth facilitates connections — the outcome depends on the individuals involved.

10.3 User Conduct

We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the Service. While we take measures to detect and remove bad actors, we cannot guarantee the behaviour, identity, or intentions of any user. You interact with other users at your own risk.

10.4 Third-Party Services

Senth may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Senth and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
• Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Senth in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or INR 5,000, whichever is greater.
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your interactions with other users, whether online or in person.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Senth and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, all your data — including your profile, hashed phone number, photos, and any remaining messages — is permanently and irreversibly removed. There is no grace period or recovery option.

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms or conduct that we determine is harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties. Upon termination by us, all your data is permanently deleted.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including but not limited to Sections 6.3, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising from these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in India. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@senthapp.com. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days.

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may pursue binding arbitration administered under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India. The arbitration shall be conducted in English, and the seat of arbitration shall be in India. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action or representative proceeding.

16. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Senth after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Senth regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
